đź”— Share this article The Mighty Nein's Opening Sequence Selected the Incorrect Critical Role Song The Mighty Nein, the newest animated series from Critical Role, revealed a new introductory sequence. It features the beloved cast of misfits, outcasts, and rogues kicking ass and making their mark, while teasing at multiple agonizing personal histories for characters including Liam O'Brien's wizard Caleb, and another actor's warlock orc, Fjord. All in all, the opening looks stunning. But I couldn't help feeling that something was missing in the song choice. This sequence uses "Welcome to the Continent", a truly stellar song composed by artist Colm McGuinness. This piece from the official score of the same name, the second one released by Critical Role Productions LLC's record label their music brand. It's a great nostalgic option, and I believe that devotees of the second campaign will appreciate its presence. But for me, The Mighty Nein's opening fails to capture the excitement and excitement that was part of the second campaign's live-play sessions. "It's Your Turn", composed by musician the artist, became an immediate hit in my view when it was first revealed in that year, and it only got better when co-founder Sam Riegel added lyrics to the tune for the animated Campaign 2 opening in the later year. Including singing from Ashley Johnson, another performer, Travis Willingham, as well as Riegel himself, the track was catchy and enjoyable. Back then, I hadn't seen the follow-up series at that point, but this was such an earworm that I still saved it on my phone. This track that knows how to get you pumped before you dive into an episode of fantasy hijinks. The Mighty Nein's opening with "the new song" fails to hit the right notes in my opinion. It's an impressive piece of music, but based on my understanding of this party, I can't help but feel that its mood is a little off. Naturally, Critical Role has already said that the animated show will have a few surprises and differences from the actual-play campaign. A tonal change for its opening seems to be among these. The Mighty Nein will be released on Prime Video from Nov. 19. If you can't wait until then, or want a head start to get to know the characters of Critical Role's Campaign 2, the actual play are available on the audio platform and the video site.
