A partnership has been formed to create a TTRPG set within the series' apocalyptic landscape. The project has been announced, with a funding drive planned to begin in April of 2026. "This project will bring the franchise’s distinctive tension, strategic depth, and memorable setting to the table, offering fans a fresh avenue to engage with The Division through immersive storytelling and player-driven missions," states an official release. Launch products are set to feature a starter set, core rulebooks, a Game Master screen, miniatures, and various deluxe editions. Delving Into The Division's Apocalyptic World In this setting, a lethal pathogen known as Green Poison was unleashed in New York City, sending the United States into chaos. As the crisis worsens, society crumbles and hostile groups rise, turning the urban landscape into a warzone. To restore order, the authorities {activate|deploy] The Division, a covert network of sleeper agents. That’s where the agents come in. Development on the game has been underway for about three years, and it is reportedly complete. The upcoming crowdfunding effort will serve as a preorder system to access a broader audience, specifically in the United States. Manufacturing will start right after the fundraiser, with shipping projected for later in 2026. An Innovative Tactical System: The GRIS System An early look at the game's rules reveals it uses d10s exclusively through its proprietary GRIS system, promoting a fast-paced and strategic approach. Agents use skills or traits to roll small dice pools, usually between one and five d10s. Instead of summing the total, players select a single “result die” from the pool. This dice is then compared against a target difficulty. Achieving a natural 10 grants additional bonuses, such as increased harm or boosted support. Elements like taking cover, elevation, or line of sight have a direct impact success chances. This mechanic seems built to reward teamwork and smart positioning over simple statistics. A Thematic Health Mechanic The way injuries is managed introduces a compelling narrative layer. Agents have a wound threshold; sustaining too much damage reduces their capabilities by lowering the size of their dice pool. At zero health, an agent is downed, but they’re not knocked out. They may still crawl and perform restricted acts, emulating the "downed" state seen in many shooter games. Any agent knocked down must roll on a trauma table, potentially gaining lingering conditions like shock or mobility-impairing wounds. A Ready-to-Play Adventure A free introductory rulebook will be released in the near future. It contains a pre-made introductory scenario called Ashes of Murray Hill. In this mission, players spearhead the hunt for a lost doctor squad and work to stop an assault by the violent Rikers gang, who have taken over that NYC neighborhood. Further information and the complete product lineup will be detailed near the Kickstarter start date.
