Red Bull has revealed significant changes for the 2026 F1 campaign, elevating Frenchman Isack Hadjar to its main squad and handing British teenager Arvid Lindblad his maiden Formula 1 seat. Lindblad, who has a Swedish father and a mother of Indian descent, will be team-mate to Kiwi driver Liam Lawson at the sister squad Racing Bulls. This driver musical chairs means Japan's Yuki Tsunoda being without a drive post a half-decade in F1. A Star in the Making The British teen drove FP1 for the British and Mexico City Grands Prix this year. Lindblad has been marked out as a potential future star by Red Bull since he was 12 years old. Regarding the team's junior academy, a key advisor previously said that Lindblad "appears very talented", commending his "natural quickness". The team prepared a programme for some time to prepare Lindblad for his potential Grand Prix bow in 2026, including runs in F1 practice sessions at the British and Mexican races. The rookie said it was a "proud moment", adding: "Next season represents a big challenge, and I know there's a lot to learn, but I'm ready to work closely with the team and meet the challenge. I can't wait to get started." He has won two races in F2 so far this season and is sixth in the standings ahead of the final round in Abu Dhabi. The Frenchman's Chance The French driver enjoys his maiden top-three finish in F1, secured at the Zandvoort race this season. Hadjar's F1 career began on a low note when he crashed on the formation lap of the season-opening Australian Grand Prix. However, since then, he has emerged as one of the stand-out newcomers this season. His performances included an outstanding podium finish at the Dutch Grand Prix, and he sits in tenth place in the championship. The team principal said: "Hadjar has displayed impressive growth and proved to be a quick learner. Crucially, he has the innate pace that is the number one requirement in this sport. We believe he can excel alongside Max." The promoted driver called it "an incredible opportunity" and said he felt "up for the challenge". Tsunoda's Exit To partner Lindblad at the junior team, Red Bull have chosen Lawson instead of Tsunoda. The New Zealander began the season with the main team but was demoted early in the year. However, he has settled back in at Racing Bulls with some strong performances, convincing Red Bull he merits more time. The Japanese driver, in contrast, has been ejected after a difficult season. His highest finish is a P6, and he has accumulated a minor percentage of the team's constructors' championship. The driver market moves mean that there is also no place on the Red Bull programme for Ireland's Alex Dunne, who will remain in F2 for 2026.
